War of Words 2019 - The Progressive Media Conference, UEA SU, Saturday, 30. March 2019

The Norwich Radical is proud to host War of Words, its Progressive Media Conference, for the fourth year running.

Our media is dominated by right wing voices, from Tory tabloids to Blairite broadsheets. Big business holds huge sway in broadcast, print and online journalism. It perpetuates the reactionary messages we hear and receive, making it complicit in the rise of a louder, more powerful, regressive, conservative movement across the globe.

We're bringing people together from across the arts, academia, media, politics and activism to discuss, debate and enlighten on how we can build a better media and a more progressive society.
In previous years we've had speakers and panels including Natalie Bennett, Michelle Stanistreet, Ben Chacko, Keri-Anne Mendoza, OpenDemocracy, the English Collective of Prostitutes, Travellers Times, European Roma Rights Centre, and the New Internationalist. Last year's highlights included David Breakspear, Pro Wrestling Eve, Novara Media, Red Pepper, and YouTubers Ellen Jones, Rowan Ellis, and Anna May Fox. We'll be announcing this year's lineup and speakers in the near future!
