Course Content:


This course provides practitioners space to reflect using experiential practice while connecting theories relating to attachment, play development and Neuro science. Focusing on the human interaction attendees will receive space to explore experiences within the nursery settings where they are based. The course focuses on the whole child’s experiences through play since birth. Considering the impact play gaps have on the child as a learner and their individual ability to cope day to day within the nursery setting.
The course will use play materials to explore a child's experiences in respect of:

Attachment patterns, what does this look like in the nursery?
Trauma: thinking about experiences and their impact.
The amazing development in the brain  
Practice that can assist communication.
Reflective sand trays.





Expected Outcomes:


Participants will have reflected on the significance of gaps within children’s play experiences from birth
Staff will have experienced empathic listening skills (as the child and practitioner) which they can take forward to use within their early years provision.
Staff will have had experience of a reflective space to think about the whole child and their experiences.
Staff will have had the opportunity to reflect on experiences in the early years setting when working with children who disengage in interactions, become overwhelmed or display angry outbursts. Linking theory and experiences together to assist the practitioners to   respond to individual children’s needs while using empathic listening skills.
