The Charles Seller Foundation: James and the Giant Peach PRESALE, Bloomfield High School, Thursday, 01. August 2019

The Charles Seller Foundation and Talent Time Players proudly present...
Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach!
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.

This year's show will benefit Sawyer Jane Barrow of Bloomfield, NJ. Sawyer Jane is a 1-year-old who was born with a Vein of Galen Aneurysmal Malformation, or VGAM. VGAM affects the large veins that returns blood from the brain to the heart. Sawyer’s VGAM was diagnosed in-utero via an ultrasound, and was deemed very serious. She was born at 35 weeks and spent the first month of her life in the NICU at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has since been treated at Boston Children’s Hospital, and is currently stable.

Sawyer's parents, Keith Barrow and Natalie Rodriguez, are both Bloomfield natives. Keith graduated from Bloomfield High School in 2012, and the Barrow family has lived in Bloomfield for more than 70 years.

The Charles Seller Foundation is a nonprofit organization helping individuals in the local New Jersey Area.
In 1950, a young man named Charles Seller was struck by a train losing one of his legs. His family and friends came together to put on a variety show named Talent Time to aid in his medical costs. This started a tradition in Bloomfield, NJ, that has lasted for more than 60 years. Each summer our members, who are in their mid-teens to early thirties, produce and perform a musical in which all profits go towards someone in the area with high medical bills.
