Instruction is done under the supervision of faculty from Montclair State University’s Graduate Program in Reading.

Enrollment fee: $1500
Looking for a fun and educational science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) program for your rising preK-8th grader? The epiSTEMic summer program aims to develop campers’ knowledge and understanding of STEM through hands-on, inquiry-based, thematic projects for the early childhood and elementary-middle school learner. Instruction is led by MSU faculty, full-time teachers, and outstanding graduate education students to provide one-to-one and small group learning experiences.

The pre-college courses aim to maintain small, workshop-style class sizes. The pace of these courses is at a college-level so learners are expected to complete  reading and writing assignments, collegial discourse (group discussion, peer review) and presentations. Additional reading and writing assignments may be assigned at the discretion of the instructor.
PROGRAM C: Interdisciplinary Literacy + STEM + Social Justice  (July 8-18th, 2 weeks, Monday - Thursday, 1- 5:30 p.m. $750 fee
The intersection of literacy, STEM, and social justice are examined in this course to engage learners in critical thinking and inquiry as they explore how language and STEM impact society. The pros and cons of technology in everyday life is taken up with a focus on access to STEM knowledge and the implications on being digital consumers versus producers of that knowledge.
PROGRAM D: Gaming, Gaming, 3D Printing, and the Role of Technology to Learn through Play (July 22, Aug 1st, 2 weeks, Monday - Thursday, 1-5:30 p.m.)  $750 fee

PROGRAM E: College Writing for High Schoolers (4 weeks, Monday and Wednesday, 1- 5:30 p.m.) $1500 fee
What skills do you need to write in a way that meets college professors expectations? What are college professors expectations? Learners will develop these skills as they are challenged intellectually and creatively to explore writing as a form of communication, inquiry, and social engagement.
