Training Description
This single day training is open to all healing professionals (Mental Health, Medical, Allied Health, Dietitians, Fitness Industry, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, and on…) at any stage of their career.
The healing arts and sciences is a primary source of sizeism, which leads to poor health outcomes and makes individuals less inclined to seek the care they need. As healing professionals, it is our ethical duty to build competency - this includes expanding our knowledge of sizeism and doing our part to reduce any discrimination based on body size.
The training fee includes a copy of the Size Diversity Competency Training Workbook© by Chelsea Fielder-Jenks for you to keep.
Note: Prior to the event, you will be asked to participate in an Implicit Association Test in order to gauge your implicit weight/size bias. While this is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged in order to get maximum benefit from the training. The test takes about 10-15 minutes. You will be sent the link to take the test after registering for the event.
