About the talk
Get a roadmap to help you through the perils and pitfalls of salary negotiation. This event will be a practical pep talk that addresses the realities of the conversations you have with recruiters and hiring managers to help you manage this critical step of your career journey. You will come away with tools and techniques to help you be prepared to ask for what you are worth.
We want to hear your stories and we’ll have time for Q & A to address any specific questions you might have.

Tamara Adlin, Adlin Inc
I help super early stage startups and, sometimes, bigger companies. I get geniuses from the chaos of a gazillion ideas to the laser focus they need for success. I ask the questions that are so basic they’re brutal, and I’m there to help get to the answers. Once the focus is there, I turn my attention to the experience we need to create to attract and make sense to ordinary humans. I help build the right product processes, create the team, coach the players, and speed up the system
I’m proud to say the startups I’ve worked with have a far-above-average hit rate.
I’ve written several books on Personas, including my latest website on Alignment Personas. Alignment Personas help solve a lot of communication and focus problems in organizations, and they ensure any research you end up doing will be understood and have an impact.
And I’m a speaker. A really good one. I love to do it, I bring my passion for my work to every talk, and my energy tends to energize. Of course I speak on customer centrism, alignment personas, and all things startup. Lately, I’ve added practical pep talks on how to negotiate for the salary and title you deserve.

Ashby Fiser, CTO, National Democratic Training Committee

I work at the intersection of technology and social change. My current chapter includes writing a book on gender bias in corporate America, leading product and technology for the National Democratic Training Committee, and helping other humans evolve their lives and careers as a professional mentor and speaker.
Previously I spent 18 years creating useful and engaging digital experiences as a UX leader, visionary, and practitioner working with companies large and small including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Wells Fargo, Exxon, Kohl’s, and many more.
I also make cheese, with fresh milk from my goats, Rosemary and Jasmine, who I milk every morning and evening.
