Root Crop Basics, Duke Farms, Thursday, 25. July 2019

Purple Carrots, golden beets and creamy parsnips are just some of the root crops you could be growing in your garden. With the ability to plant both spring & fall crops and easy storage in the house or even right in the garden, root crops are a great crop family to add to your future garden.
Join Melissa Almendinger, Garden Coordinator, for a discussion of successfully growing root crops organically from choosing variety to sowing to harvest and storage. The last half hour of the class will be spent in the Community Garden discussing the planting and harvesting of root crops.
