In the **** of the opioid epidemic, patients and providers are searching for non-Medic*tion answers to solving pain. In this session, Dr. Overman will moderate a discussion among experts in integrative therapies, including the mind-body connection, movement and healing, and cannabis. Dr. Overman will also discuss his recent work in Alaska that integrates mental health and physical health providers to treat patients with better outcomes.



Objectives:



Describe what Integrated Care means.


Understand the importance of balancing active and passive therapies.


Experience and recognize components of mind-body connection exercises.


Identify benefits of movement and healing.


Learn some of the early research about the endocannabinoid system and how cannabis appears to affect pain.

Panelist #2: Dora Gyamati, BS - Movement and Healing - Inventor of M3B® methodology and Owner of SPIRA POWER YOGA LLC.


Panelist #3: Garth Terry, MD, PhD - Cannabis, the Endocannabinoid System, and Pain - Acting Association Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of Washington School of Medicine, and a Physician/Research Associate at VA Puget Sound.
