James Maddock - PAC the House Series, The Hackensack Performing Arts Center, Saturday, 28. March 2020

Lifelong rock & roll artist, James Maddock has been carving his path in music since the 1980s. The British-born singer-songwriter’s raw, soulful voice, coupled with a storyteller’s sense of narrative can easily be heard through his ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop and rock music. Enjoying commercial success during the late 1990s that included a major-record deal, a Top 5 AAA radio hit and a song placement on the television phenomenon, Dawson’s Creek, Maddock has been a relevant mainstay in the music industry that has ebbed, flowed, peaked and crashed throughout the years.
In the decades that followed, Maddock has successfully transitioned himself into an independent solo artist, gaining notable fans such as New Jersey icon Bruce Springsteen and late-night legend David Letterman. His latest 2017 studio album, “Insanity vs. Humanity”—a soulful blend of rock & roll that nods to Neil Young, Sam Cooke, Roy Orbison, Bruce Hornsby and Bill Withers—underscored Maddock’s lyrics with plenty of guitar firepower and piano punch, all glued together with a warm and soulful voice. Recorded in only two days, Maddock’s goal was simple: get everyone in the same room, teach them the songs and press record. In doing so, he was able to capture the simple and honest sound that oftentimes is neglected in modern music.
Now entering his fourth decade performing, we’re ecstatic to introduce James Maddock to the HACPAC, where you can see him perform live as part of the 2019/2020 PAC the House Season!
