Learn the art of making old-fashioned farmhouse jam in this hands-on class with Robin Cohen, owner of Doves and Figs. The class includes step-by-step instructions on safe canning methods for jam. You will learn how to make Any Berry jam, so you can put your new-found knowledge and skills into practice all summer preserving berries to enjoy year-round. Participants will go home with the Any Berry jam recipe and a little jar of jam to enjoy. Participants also receive a 10% discount on any purchases made in store at Four Seasons Farm Pantry on the day of the class.
About the Instructor:
Robin Cohen is the jam lady of Doves and Figs artisan jam company. She learned to make jam from her Dad when she was a little girl and hopes to pass on her passion for jam making to class participants. Doves and Figs turns locally-gathered fruits into unusual jams, chutneys, and fruit mustards sold in gourmet and cheese shops, local Whole Foods stores and online.
Doves and Figs has won multiple Good Food Awards (national prize for sustainably sourced and produced foods), was a national finalist in the Samuel Adams Pitch Room contest, and winner of a silver medal at the World Marmalade Awards. Robin Cohen won the Best of Show for canning at the Topsfield Fair and took first prize for her Cranberry Raspberry Rugelach in the Gourmet.com Holiday Cookie Challenge. Robin is a member of the prestigious culinary service organization Les Dames d’ Escoffier.
