Holiday House Tour: Hanna House and Filoli, Searsville Parking Lot, Saturday, 14. December 2019

Celebrate the holidays with a spectacular house and garden tour on Saturday, December 14! Join the Stanford Historical Society on this special visit to two San Francisco Bay Area landmarks: Hanna House and Filoli Historic House and Garden, the architectural masterpieces of Frank Lloyd Wright and Arthur Brown Jr. respectively.
The tour will showcase the connection of architecture to landscape in two very different settings: a grand country estate and a sophisticated but intimate home on Stanford University campus. Guests will experience the transition from traditional to modern living, all in a single day. In addition to touring the house and garden of these two Peninsula landmarks, the tour at Filoli will include a special focus on the work of Arthur Brown Jr. not available through the standard tour program.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Guests will be greeted at the Searsville Lot on Stanford campus and travel by motor coaches to each location for exclusive docent-led tours. There will be time to visit the gardens and the Filoli gift shop for special holiday purchases.
This is anticipated to be a sold-out event. Regular tour price is $150 per person, including transportation, admission for both locations, gourmet box lunch, and light refreshments. Sign up early for Early Bird price of $135 before 5:00 p.m. on November 20th. Guests will travel in separate groups. Those wishing to be on the same tour group MUST submit registration through one person. Attendance is restricted to adults and children over 14 years old.
NOTE:
The tour will include walking uphill and climbing stairs at these historical sites. Interested individuals requiring wheelchair access should contact us for further details (historicalsociety@stanford.edu or 650-725-3332).
Rain or shine, the tour will proceed. Refund or exchange is not possible.
