Are you and your family prepared for an emergency?
The Emergency Response Team of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Westchester Alumnae Chapter is the 2018 and 2019 Eastern Region Award Winner. We are excited to again collaborate with the American Red Cross - Greater NY Region for our 2nd Annual Emergency "Back To Basics" Preparedness Workshop, featuring the Pillowcase Project.
When: Saturday, September 28, 2019
Time: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Registration and breakfast at 9:30 AM. Concurrent one-hour workshops begin promptly at 10 AM.
Where: Theodore Young Community Center located at 32 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains, N.Y. 10607.
The purpose of this event is to educate the community (both youth and adults) on important prevention, strategies, and tips to use in case of an emergency so to foster a level of confidence that will make individuals less anxious or helpless in their response to an emergency situation. There will be two concurrent one-hour workshops: The Basic Life Skills workshop is aimed to educate the community with “basic” knowledge and information (for adults); The Pillowcase Project is an interactive workshop where the youth will learn different types of inclement weather, items to pack for emergencies, what to say to dispatcher when they dial 911 and will receive a sturdy white pillowcase to personalize at leisure (for youth 3rd to 12th graders).
