Diversity Alliance Retreat - Black at Haverford Screening & Conversation, The Haverford School, Friday, 22. November 2019

Please share this widely with your Upper School students. The Diversity Alliance at The Haverford School will be hosting our first student retreat of the year Friday evening, November 22nd from 6pm-8:30pm. Dinner will be served.

Just weeks before POCC and SDLC, join us in community to practice reading and processing racial encounters at school.

We are hosting a screening and conversation about "Black at Haverford: Conversations Not Had." This film links together the voices of alumni ranging back to the Class of 1967 up through the experiences of students currently attending the school in a way that encourages the processing of racial encounters and story sharing. Story sharing can promote healing and crucial practice for navigating future encounters.

If our communities are to continue growing in terms of inclusivity and equity such processing sessions not only empower us to ****/name moments of conflict, but also help us build resilience for how when we have to navigate these most difficult moments in our communities. This event is open to all students and adults too! The Diversity Alliance is excited about the potential for intergenerational dialogue with this event and interschool experience sharing.
