LaTricia Brown, mother of three and wife of Ismail Brown, is a graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a unique clothing and accessory designer. Born in Mobile, Alabama, and raised in Virginia and Ohio, Her love for fashion was born out of defiance. Her father once made the statement, “ If you make it then you can wear it out of this house.” She asked for a sewing machine for Christmas and never looked back!
As a student of the ever-changing world of fashion since 2000, she was focused on a career in fashion and made her first strides in doing so by interning in Cincinnati, Ohio with Just Jackie Designs. Learning basic sketching, sewing, and construction techniques, she decided to further her classical fashion education by attending Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga.
During this time she had daily interactions with Diddy, learning the basics of mood board development, sourcing fabrics and notions to develop a cohesive design and was able to assist with sourcing and inspiration resulting in the culmination of P. Diddy’s, I Am King, 10th Anniversary Fashion Show at New York Fashion Week. She can be seen working alongside Derek and the other designers in this documentary.
Leaving New York to finish earning her degree, she has done editorial and video styling for artists such as P. Blakk and Bosco and continues to pursue styling and design endeavors.
LaTricia earned her BFA in Fashion with a minor in Accessory Design in 2009. She was also the recipient of the Abercrombie and Fitch Scholarship and was selected for the Jepson Center for the Arts Graduate Show; here her menswear was put on display amongst other graduate works completed for the year. LaTricia worked as the alterations manager for David’s Bridal for approximately a year before deciding she yearned for more time with her newborn son and young daughter.
January first 2018, she began designing and custom tailoring full-time and opened her first design studio in Pooler, GA on 9/16/19.
She currently resides in Pooler, Georgia and currently works for herself as CEO and Lead Designer at Trish B. Stylin’ Design. She has begun focusing on her line of clothing and accessories for both men and women to enjoy. Her greatest inspirations include her designer muses John Galliano, and Betsy Johnson.
