Collaborate For Campus Safety, Crime Stoppers of Houston, Friday, 19. July 2019

The Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, a non-profit, is dedicated to increasing victim safety, holding batterer’s accountable and preventing further acts violence in the family.
The council is a coordinated community response model for addressing domestic violence. We collaborate with community partners in law enforcement, education, business, healthcare, faith-based institutions, judicial, social services, and media.
The Collaborate for Campus Safety workshop is a collaboration with local colleges and universities in the Houston and surrounding Harris County to provide education, victim advocacy and technical assistance to educational institutions.
The Title IX Task Force is a committee that meets quarterly to encourage the collaboration of colleges, universities and victim service organizations to work together to protect the rights of students and faculty in compliance with Title IX and the Campus Save Act.
The workshop will provide:

Introduction to Title IX for victim service professionals and educators.
Introduction to Trauma Informed Response to educators to meet the needs of students and faculty impacted by interpersonal violence.
Interactive learning using case studies to walk attendees through the process of working with students and faculty to address issues such as domestic/dating violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking and hate crimes.
An overview of regulations related to Title IX and the impact on educational institutions.
Panelist from College of The Mainland, Lee College, Rice University, San Jacinto College, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc., and the University of Houston campuses.
