CNC Plasma Training Class, MakeIt Labs, Saturday, 16. February 2019

This workshop will show basic operation of the CNC Plasma Cutter, a computer-aided tool that allows precise cutting of sheet metal on a 2D profile.We will go over all of the basic needs for operation of the equipment. By the end of the session each attendee will be approved to use the machine* and have learned the following skills:
-Safety and theory behind Plasma operation-How to import a .DXF into SheetCAM and convert to G-Code-How to set up the machine and zero work material-The operation of the plasma CNC OS, Dynatorch-How to burn out your design-Clean up & troubleshooting
You will learn some of the limitations of the plasma cutting process and how to plan for them in your design.
Class members are reccomended (but not required) that they take an introductary design course for either Inkscape, Draftsight or Autodesk Fusion 360.
Ticket price includes cost of take-home plasma consumables & practice material 
MANDATORY APPAREL: closed toe shoes, non-synthetic clothing, a long sleeve shirt and long pants.
*Once finished with the class, those trained will enter a "trial period" where they must be supervised by the plasma RM and/or approved members when using the plasma CNC. Once the trainee has shown they are proficiant with the machine, the trial period will end.
