Agrifest Follow up: Visit Polk Small Farms, Polk County, Monday, 01. April 2019

Attention Polk County Fourth Grade families:
We hope your student had a blast during their visit to the UF/IFAS Extension office in Bartow for Agrifest 2019!
Follow up on the fun with a visit to the following farms, which have also graciously agreed to provide one free pound of blueberries with purchase of a pound as a fun incentive to visit and learn more about how and where our food is grown.
Please note that the blueberry season varies each year and many of these farms are only open for U-Pick during specific times.  You will need to contact the farm to verify when they will be open for U-Pick. :)
Please bring your ticket and turn it in at the farm so we can see how many students take advantage of this new opportunity.  Remember to thank the farm for participating and we hope you learn a lot during your visit!

General tips for visiting a farm:
Bring: Water
Wear: Sunscreen, a hat and closed toed shoes
Show respect for your host by remaining in designated areas and only picking ripe berries :).
