2020 Richard C. Pugh Lecture on Tax Law & Policy Presents Rosanne Altshuler, University of San Diego, Tuesday, 25. February 2020

The University of San Diego School of Law is excited to welcome Rosanne Altshuler to present the Richard Crawford Pugh Lecture on Tax Law on Policy.  Altshuler, who will discuss "The International Tax Landscape: Past, Present and Future," is a Professor of Economics with a focus on federal tax policy at Rutgers University.

Rosanne Altshuler is Professor of Economics at Rutgers University. She was formerly Chair of the Economics Department and Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on federal tax policy and has appeared in numerous journals and books. Rosanne was President of the National Tax Association in 2018, First Vice President in 2017, and Second Vice President in 2016. She has served as Editor of the National Tax Journal and Editor of the Policy Watch section of International Tax and Public Finance. Rosanne has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Tax Association, the Panel of Economic Advisers of the Congressional Budget Office, and the Board of Trustees of the American Tax Policy Institute. She has been active in the policy world as Director of the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, Senior Economist to the 2005 President’s Advisory Panel of Federal Tax Reform, and Special Advisor to the Joint Committee on Taxation. She has testified before the Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committee.

About the Richard Crawford Pugh Lecture on Tax Law & Policy
The Richard Crawford Pugh Lecture on Tax Law & Policy brings a distinguished practitioner, judge or government official who has played a significant role in shaping U.S. and international tax policy to the law school each year to discuss current and developing tax law and policy trends. The endowed lecture was established in 2009 in honor of the long and illustrious career of USD's Professor of Law Emeritus Richard Crawford Pugh. Before coming to USD, Pugh was a professor at Columbia Law School, a deputy assistant U.S. attorney general (Tax Division), and a partner at the international law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.

The University of San Diego School of Law is a State Board of California-approved MCLE provider and is currently evaluating credits for this activity.

The event will take place in the Grace Courtroom of Warren Hall at the University of San Diego. To get to Warren Hall, please enter through the east/main entrance on Alcala Parkway and park in the structure located slightly to the right of the kiosk. Warren Hall is the third building on your left as you walk west towards are required to pay for parking on campus.
