During this event we’ll focus on how companies should focus on their digital quality transformation journey supported by human error prevention, detection and eventual human error elimination principles, methods, tools, technologies and workflows. A very exciting topic, that can save huge amounts for any organization! The advanced, computer controlled manufacturing, 3D printing, additive manufacturing and quality principles, methods, tools and practical examples presented are applicable to almost any factory, organization / business.
In the first half of the program we’ll visit our new hi-tech Makerspace laboratory at NJIT to explain and demonstrate digital factory transformation processes to reduce / detect / eliminate human errors.

Students and faculty have access to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers, computer controlled industrial metrology equipment, 5-axis CNC water jet, wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), manual metalworking equipment, electronics assembly equipment, additive manufacturing / 3D printing, laser cutting, and a full complement of hand tools and power tools. In NJIT’s Makerspace, students, faculty members and industrial collaborators have access to an unmatched assortment of state of the art equipment and training resources, which will drive the facility to become a campus hub where students, faculty, and industry gather to collaborate, build, design, innovate, test ideas and create.

This presentation and tour will take place in the NJIT GITC building, ground floor.  Pizza and refreshments will be offered after the tour.  All welcome.

Abstract : The Krebs Creativity Cycle explains the fundamental relationship between Art, Science, Engineering and Design. Many say that the 21st Century will be about the convergence of nature, design and technology. If design is going to have such a prominent role, what are the implications for our understanding of quality and how we think about it.
